IRS tax liens specifically refer but are not limited to liens filed by the IRS for unpaid income, payroll, gift or estate taxes. IRS tax liens are the same as Federal tax liens. The IRS files a Notice of Federal Tax Lien. It does not use the words IRS on the Lien heading.
