IRS Audit Letter

We can file all of your back tax returns, even if you have lost your records.

IRS AUDIT LETTER
The IRS uses letters to communicate with taxpayers about IRS audits.  As with most IRS letters there are deadlines associated with each type of letter.  Below is a sampling of different IRS Audit letters.
Notice that We changed Your Account—This audit letter serves as notification that the IRS has taken it upon themselves to make a change to a taxpayer’s tax return.  The assumption with this IRS Audit letter is that the IRS is right and the taxpayer is wrong, which is why they changed the tax return before notifying the taxpayer.
Notice of Audit and Examination Scheduled—This audit letter serves as notification that a taxpayer is among the lucky few who have be chosen for an audit.  You should contact a tax professional to make a decision on how to best prepare for the audit.
Notice of Tax Amount Changed—This letter comes when a taxpayer does not respond to an audit letter and an audit was conducted with out your presence.  You basically lose all deductions being questioned and are taxed on all income they have reported to them.
Notice of Examination Report and Change to your Tax—This audit letter is notification that the audit has been complete and the amount of money owed to the IRS as a result of the audit.  If you received this letter, you still have rights to an Appeal.  Remember the Appeals Office is much easier to deal with.  The higher up you go at the IRS, the closer you get to Santa Claus.
Notice of Change to Tax Return Due to Recent Audit—This audit letter typically results from the IRS adding additional interest and penalties to the tax amount which was added after the audit.
The IRS is currently (as of March 2010) revising many of their letters of correspondence with taxpayers.  It is possible that you may receive a notice with a different heading.  It probably is a revision of one of the five above mentioned letters.

True Testimonials

So what is a true testimonial? There are two types that you should only have confidence in.

The first is a letter from the IRS stating what the settlement was.

The second type of testimonial is to actually talk to a client that had a similar problem that we recently resolved.
