Few words are more dreaded than the words, IRS Audit. Unless you know that you filed incorrectly on purpose by taking deductions you are not entitled too or under reported income, you have little to fear.
That fact that your return has been selected for examination does not always suggest that you have made an error or been dishonest. Most of our clients end up with no change from their audit and many actually end up getting money back. The chances of getting audited are actually going down unless you are in the top wage bracket or are self employed.
Your rights regarding an IRS audit include:
Most returns are selected for examination on the basis of computer scoring. Computer programs give each return a score. The higher the score, the more likely your return will be selected for audit. Returns that have unreported income score higher than returns whose income matches the records received by the IRS.
An examination may be conducted by mail or through an in-person interview. The interview may be at tan IRS office (office audit) or at the taxpayer’s home, place of business or our office (field audit). You may make audio recordings of interviews provided you give the IRS advance notice. If the time and place or method that the IRS schedules is not convenient, the taxpayer may request a change. Clients who do not agree with the proposed changes may appeal with the examiner’s manager or with the IRS Appeals office.
If you knowingly file returns that underreported your income or overstated your deductions, it is probably best to be represented by a professional. A professional will act as a buffer and soften the errors and often minimize the final damages. Once your return has been selected for an audit, it is too late to file an amended tax return for the year being audited.
Working with a local company, in our opinion is always the best choice. If you need representation on and IRS audit, only a local company can give you the best service.

So what is a true testimonial? There are two types that you should only have confidence in.
The first is a letter from the IRS stating what the settlement was.
The second type of testimonial is to actually talk to a client that had a similar problem that we recently resolved.
