IRS form 2848 authorizes us to represent you before the IRS. With it we can get important information needed to file returns, negotiate settlements and resolve other IRS matters. The most important parts of the form are summarized:
Once IRS form 2848 has been accepted by the IRS, all communications that come to you will now also come to us. All communications from the IRS that come to us will also come to you. That way we both know that we are being told the same thing by the IRS. The power of attorney will stay effective until revoked. Most clients keep their power of attorney on file with the IRS even after their matter has been fully resolved. If any future communication is sent to you in the future, it will also come to us.
When a power of attorney has been filed, the IRS is required to stop talking with you and direct all of their written and verbal communications with us. You will also receive copies of any written correspondence. If you are contacted by the IRS after giving us a power of attorney, politely tell the IRS that one has been filed and give them our name and phone number. The IRS will usually be embarrassed that they did not check before contacting you and apologize.

So what is a true testimonial? There are two types that you should only have confidence in.
The first is a letter from the IRS stating what the settlement was.
The second type of testimonial is to actually talk to a client that had a similar problem that we recently resolved.
